Lisa McCartney, BAAS, CPhT, PhTR, is the department chair for the ASHP Accredited pharmacy technician program at Austin Community College. She has been educating pharmacy technicians since 1999. Lisa has worked as a pharmacy technician for over 30 years. She is a subject matter expert in the area of sterile compounding and aseptic technique, and has been an ACPE certified instructor in sterile product preparation and aseptic technique since 1997. Lisa has a wide range of pharmacy experience, including the community, hospital, and oncology pharmacy settings. She became a PTCB certified pharmacy technician in 1995 and has been registered with the State of Texas since 2005. Lisa received the 2012 Roy Kemp award from the Pharmacy Technician Educator's Council. Lisa is the author of the EMC/Paradigm book, Sterile Compounding and Aseptic Technique: Concepts, Training, and Assessment for Pharmacy Technicians.
