Pamela Ellsworth, MD, is a Professor of Urology at University of Central Florida College of Medicine. She is also Chief of the Division of Pediatric Urology at Nemours Children’s Hospital in Orlando, Florida. Dr. Ellsworth is the author of many Jones & Bartlett Learning patient guides, including Little Black Book of Urology, 100 Questions & Answers About Erectile Dysfunction, 100 Questions & Answers About Bladder Cancer, and 100 Questions & Answers About Overactive Bladder and Incontinence as well as numerous book chapters and peer-reviewed journal articles. She has lectured throughout the world on a variety of urologic topics.
John A. Heaney, MD, is Chief of the Section of Urology at Dartmouth/Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire. He was trained in Ireland and England between 1969-1974, but came to the United States in 1975 for a fellowship in urologic oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital. He has been on the staff at DHMC since 1986. His clinical and research interests include urologic oncology and endourology.
Oliver “Cliff” Gill, born in 1937, is a retired high school math teacher who lives in Poland, Maine with his wife Kathryn. He has two grown children and four grandchildren. An enthusiastic sports fan, he has coached hockey and soccer teams and still avidly pursues sports. Cliff Gill was diagnosed with prostate cancer in December 1998; the prostate gland was surgically removed in January 1999 by his co-author, Dr. John Heaney, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire. As of August 2001, all tests indicate the surgery was totally successful.
