This is a collection of short stories is based on real life incidents, which began about seventy-five years ago. Many of these stories started during the Great Depression and continues on through WWII and up until 1949.I consider these experiences to be character builders. They have taught me many lessons, including; learning to be self-efficient in poor conditions, and to go by the Golden Rule, which is 'do unto others as you would have them do unto you.' These lessons in life have been an encouragement to me in moral living, and I hope to bring to others some enlightenment from the days gone by.

Biografía del autor

I was born in Birmingham, Alabama and grew up in North Carolina in a time the world was thrown into the Great Depression. Hunger gnawed at the stomachs of our family more often than not, even into near starvation. But along with this, came times of bonding together as a family and riding out the waves of life with a strong alliance to love and joy of being. This, through the years, taught us self-reliance and compassion.In my lifetime, I have held several positions. One of the most memorable is being a momma. I feel other important positions I held were as a second class mechanic on airplanes during WW II and a teletypist for the Navy, relaying secret messages throughout the world. Now, at the end of my life, many things have brought on a reaping, a desire to relate to others my experiences in life.
