Siobhan Freegard was raised in a small town in Ireland and came to London when she was 18. She worked her way up the corporate ladder to become a marketing director and then had her first child aged 29. After struggling with the work/life balance, she decided to have a stint as a full-time mum. She is now 41, with three children age 11, 9 and 5. She started Netmums as a result of her own experiences of feeling isolated and overwhelmed by the experience of being a new mum.

Netmums was founded in 2000 by former marketing director Siobhan Freegard after the birth of her second child. It began in her local Harrow community but membership increased rapidly and branches of Netmums have been formed all over the UK. Patrons are Dame Anita Roddick and John Bird MBE. Judith Wills is a mother of two and the author of The Food Bible, The Children's Food Bible and Everyday Eating for Babies and Children. Her books have been translated into more than 20 languages across the world, and have appeared in the bestseller lists in countries including France, Italy, Finland, Germany and Canada.
