This student text is designed to provide a foundation in hardware, software and interfacing techniques for microelectronic systems. It has been written to follow the Advanced GNVQ optional unit, and will also be found appropriate for BTEC National, Higher National, and other courses, including introductory modules at degree level.
Assuming little prior knowledge, students are introduced to the technology of microprocessors, their interfacing, and writing software, with reference to the Z880, 8086 family and 8031/8051 microcontrollers. This student centred textbook is ideal for the UK GNVQ unit in microelectronics.
The examples and programs are provided for Z80, 8086 family, and 8031/32 / 8051/52 microprocessors.
