The Handbook of Science Communication is written for students from undergraduate level upwards, and for scientists who need to communicate their work effectively to each other, and to the wider public. It is also suitable as a source book for teachers of science communication in universities and colleges. The material in this book is in two parts. The first part, 'Practical Science Communication', is a basic collection of practical advice and guidance for students with particular emphasis on written communication. The second part, 'Communication Theory and Practice', is an introduction to the academic study of communication and its application to many aspects of spoken communication.
