Transactions of the Royal Microscopical Society Volume 1: MICRO 90 comprises the full refereed proceedings of the 1990 MICRO conference of the Royal Microscopical Society, held in London from 2-6 July. There are over 160 contributions in total, ranging from tutorial, invited and contributed papers to flash poster and poster presentations. Many of the major workers in the field are represented here with important new contributions. The major emphasis of the conference was on the fields of confocal microscopy, 3D microscopy and immunocytochemistry, and contributions in all these areas are well represented in the proceedings. In addition, there were sessions devoted to all the major microscopical methodologies in materials and biology and also to new techniques and applications.
