Part of a series of books which together give a complete theoretical and practical coverage of N level microelectronics and microprocessor systems, this book is written to cover the practical objectives of the BTEC Unit Microelectronic systems U86/333 at both N2 and N3 level. The aims of this book are to introduce the student to the practical aspects of microcomputer hardware, software and applications. It includes about 30 exercises which may be performed by students to support the theoretical aspects of microcomputer systems. They cover topics such as systems architecture, tracing program operation, mathematical applications, control systems, sequencing, peripheral operation, analogue and digital input/output and the use of interrupts. All exercises come with complete software listings.
