These four volumes together comprise a comprehensive coverage of ergonomics, emphasizing in particular, two aspects of the subject - its orientation towards the transformation of working objects and systems and the acknowledgement of the variety of users and situations that can be involved. The congress which prompted the papers in this three-volume set comprised 607 oral presentations representing 40 nationalities. Two of the volumes contain the papers presented at the congress itself, the third contains the 118 posters from the event and the fourth contains the plenary papers and is a special issue of "Ergonomics".
