Sinopsis

A classic and lighthearted story about the importance of taking children seriously. Albert Turtle wakes up one morning and complains that he has a toothache. But turtles don't have teeth, as his family gently explains to him, so it's impossible for Albert to have a toothache. Or is it? This endearing tale of one young turtle's struggle to be believed and understood was first published nearly thirty years ago, and has been lovingly reintroduced here for a whole new generation of readers. * First published as Albert's Toothache in 1974, this beloved story is here being reintroduced to a whole new generation of readers. * Bright, engaging artwork. * In its earlier incarnation, this book was named a Best Book of the Year by School Library Journal and a Notable Book by Booklist. * Ideal for parents and teachers as a way to talk to children about the importance of listening to others.

Acerca del autor

Barbara Williams is the renowned author of numerous books for children, including Titanic Crossing and Making Waves, as well as Albert's Toothache, which was initially published in 1974. She says, "I wrote this story and dedicated it to my daughter, Kim, a pre-teen hypochondriac, because I hadn't believed her when she reported that she fell off the monkey bars at school on two consecutive days and broke both wrists." Barbara Williams lives in Salt Lake City with her husband, a retired professor. Doug Cushman is the illustrator of What Moms Can't Do, What Dads Can't Do, and What Teachers Can't Do, all written by Douglas Wood. He says, "One of my early and major influences was the comic strip Pogo, set in the Okeefenokee swamp. When I read Albert's Impossible Toothache, it just seemed a swamp setting would be perfect." Doug Cushman lives with his family in California.
