Eine Klavierschule aus Amerika: Umfassend und gut durchdacht. Unterrichtsheft, Theorieheft, Hausaufgabenheft und Vorspielheft für jede Stufe gehören zusammen. In diesem Unterrichtsheft "Lesson 1A" wird die Orientierung auf der Tastatur zunächst durch die Gruppen der schwarzen Tasten eingeführt, anschließend werden daraus "Schlüsseltöne" abgeleitet. Die ersten Noten im Notensystem sind dann das mittlere C, das kleine f im Bassschlüssel und das eingestrichene g´ im Violinschlüssel. Dabei werden die Töne nicht wie sonst üblich immer mit dem gleichen Finger gespielt, sondern es wird von Anfang an Unabhängigkeit angestrebt. Viel Wert legt die Schule auch auf rhythmische Sicherheit. Zu den Stücken gibt es jeweils eine Begleitung durch den Lehrer; hierdurch klingen auch schon die ersten Übungen ansprechend. Für das häusliche Üben ist eine CD beigefügt, auf der jedes Stück in zwei Tempi aufgenommen ist - langsam zum Üben und schnell zum Spielen. Diese Klavierschule ist sehr zu empfehlen, da sie so gut durchdacht ist und die Schüler vielseitig anspricht. Ihr Potenzial zeigt sich vor allem dann, wenn Eltern das häusliche Üben konsequent anleiten. Das kann man sich jedoch nur bei jüngeren Kindern vorstellen; ältere wollen meist lieber unabhängig von den Eltern spielen. Eine englischsprachige Schule einzusetzen bedeutet natürlich einiges an Vorbereitung für den Lehrer: Die Erklärungen kann er in der Stunde auf Deutsch geben, doch muss er die Texte zu den Stücken übertragen und die Fachbegriffe (wie z. B. Viertelnote) auch schriftlich notieren zum Nachsehen für die Kinder und vielleicht auch die Eltern. Wem dieser Aufwand zu hoch ist, kann trotzdem einiges aus der Schule nutzen: Viele Stücke sind besonders durch die Begleit-CD für die Kinder ein Anreiz zum Üben und können parallel zu anderen Schulen angeboten werden.
