Holtzclaw, the author of the Images of America volumes Banning and San Gorgonio Pass and the Images of Sports book Del Mar Race Track, and Diane Welch, a history columnist for the San Diego Union-Tribune, combed through many private and corporate archives to cull together the vintage photographs for this evocative window to Encinitas's storied past.
