This title presents the new Inspector Alvarez mystery. When Majorcan Inspector Enrique Alvarez is called upon to investigate the death of a woman found shot dead in her own home, all the evidence seems to point to her husband's guilt. Heron was far from rich, but his wife, Belinda, was. Add into the equation Belinda's reported belligerence towards her husband; his unsupported alibi; plus proof he had been having an affair and the case seems cut and dry. Except Alvarez just doesn't believe Heron is guilty. His reason? Instinct. Which doesn't go down too well with his superiors. When Alvarez's boss, Superior Chief Salas, declares Heron the prime suspect and orders his arrest, Alvarez is forced to take an absurd risk in the belief that justice should take precedence over the law...
