Here is a lavishly illustrated, accessible guide to infectious diseases, combining succinct text with first class color photographs. Organised into: general principles; infections by body system (Cardiovascular; Gastrointestinal etc.); generalised infections and infections of particular patient-types (eg. the Immunocompromised; the Neonatal), there is also a closing chapter on tropical diseases (not necessarily infectious but communicable and prevalent). Each chapter will focus on the clinical, pathological and radiological appearance of the infectious diseases specific to each system. The accompanying text will give a simple, succinct account of each disease, with brief discussion of clinical manifestation, prognosis and principles of management.
