Helps the reader master the relationships of anatomy in the transverse, sagittal, and coronal planes. Organized into a textbook called "Concepts" and a workbook called "Applications," it covers body regions in an orderly fashion - head, thorax, abdomen, and pelvis. Particular attention is given to structures that are especially significant in the various imaging modalities. The textbook reviews the gross anatomy of a region, then examines the anatomy of serial sections of that region in each of the planes. The workbook presents line drawings for the reader to label. Each drawing is prepared from slides of the sectioned cadavers. A slide set, Test Base, and Instructor's Manual are also available.
This two-volume learning system aims to help students master the relationships of anatomy in the sectional planes, and provides materials to use for further study and review. Volume one, "Concepts", presents the theoretical basis of sectional anatomy, while volume two, "Applications", provides hands-on activities to reinforce learning. An instructor's manual and a 400 pc-slide set are available separately.
