This is the powerful, true story of a young woman's struggle to overcome cancer, as seen through the eyes of those closest to her. Joanna Richardson died at 36 of malignant melanoma. This book, written by her sister, whose best friend also died just a year after Jo, offers a variety of perspectives including that of Jo's husband and three young children. Counselling and the benefits of hospice care (for patients and relatives alike) are included, whilst Jo's candid reference to the treatments and disease itself help to dispel some of the mystery and fear the word cancer evokes.
