‘It was French film-maker Sophie Toscan du Plantier’s dream to have a holiday home in beautiful Schull in west Cork. But on 23 December 1996, she was brutally murdered outside that holiday home, the poetry book she had been reading chillingly left open on a page occupied by the Yeats poem ‘A Dream of Death’.

Acerca del autor
Ralph Riegel is the southern correspondent for the Irish Independent. He has worked as a journalist for several newspapers including the Examiner, Evening Echo and Evening Herald. He is a regular contributor to RTÉ, BBC and Virgin Media, and to British newspapers The Independent and The Daily Telegraph. He lives in Cork.
