Railways Restored is the Bible of the railway preservation movement. Listing each of the country's steam centres and preserved railways, the book provides a comprehensive listing of all locomotives displayed along with information on rolling stock, special events, addresses and much more. First published in 1980, Railways Restored has been published annually since then, establishing a reputation amongst enthusiasts and regular visitors to the numerous preserved lines that is second to none. Biografía del autor
Alan Butcher lives in Ashford, Middlesex and is employed as the Book Production Manager at Ian Allan Publishing. He has been involved with the compilation of Railways Restored since it was first published. He is the author of a number of titles for the Ian Allan Publishing list, most recently On London & South Western Lines, Mid-Hants Railway in Colour and Tractors in Colour
