This volume consists of 25 reviews which aim to balance clinical and academic topics as well as diagnostic and therapeutic issues. For certain topics there is an addendum to provide a contrasting view. The topics were chosen from a list the editors and their editorial board derived from a round-table discussion. This publication offers: a source of topical reviews of new developments in radiography; insight into key issues surrounding controversial topics in diagnostic imaging, radiotherapy and oncology; and reviews to assist in radiographers broadening their perspective of their field. It should be useful for undergraduate students, particularly those embarking on their research projects and students in postgraduate and continuing education programmes. It should provide a focus for established clinical and academic radiographers who need to keep abreast of developments in their specialities and be of benefit to other professions in the fields of diagnostic imaging and radiotherapy and oncology.
