Sinopsis
For non-science students, as well as students of the Earth sciences, this book aims to take a holistic approach to the subject, by integrating astronomy, meteorology, geology and oceanography. The book presents basic astronomy to allow students to understand how the planet came to be, and how it relates to other planets, before going on to specific processes that alter the Earth. Learning aids include: beginning of chapter outlines and chapter introductions; "further consideration" boxes; inserts that explore a topic in greater detail; "apply your knowledge" questions; and "investigating the environment" boxes, which highlight related environmental issues with the "apply your knowledge" questions. Environmental examples and applications are also included.
