Sinopsis

The door has opened. Why should we still care about 2012? The Mayans believed that 2012 was a door. But a door to what? The answer to that question holds insights into prophesy that should deeply interest every Latter-day Saint. Dr. Hugh Nibley studied the New Year rite traditions of ancient cultures, and discovered a pattern in them that mirrors the Three Pillars of the Gospel: the Creation, the Fall, and the Atonement. As the Pillars of the Gospel hold the structure of the cosmos and of the temple, studying the New Year rites and Nibley’s concept of year cycles can provide a foundation to sacred keys of knowledge. In Nibley’s New Year Rite, the Bischoffs connect Nibley’s research into year cycles, the writings of Isaiah, and the Mayan concept of 2012 to bring insight into prophesy currently being fulfilled. This is an exciting era. The earth is spiritually beginning to move from a telestial state to a terrestrial. The patterns found in Nibley’s research contain keys of protection that LDS readers can use to safeguard our families as we move beyond the door of 2012, and into the future.
