Sinopsis
The aim of this text is to provide a comprehensive study of the development of CPM (Continuous Passive Motion), detailing its biological effects on the healing and regeneration of joint tissue. In the mid-1970s, Salter and his colleagues applied the knowledge from the basic research of CPM to the orthopaedic care of patients. CPM devices are now in use in hospitals in 60 countries around the world for the immediate post-operative management of procedures such as fracture fixation, total joint replacement and ligamentous reconstruction. This textbook is designed for othopaedic surgeons and physiotherapists.
