The Asiatic species were not introduced until much later, the Chinese Wisteria first blooming in Britain in 1819, three years after its arrival from Guangzhou. Once it was found to be hardy out of doors it rapidly became popular, arousing the admiration of all who saw it., and soon found its way to the rest of the temperate world.
