Sinopsis

Fresh from the trenches of Gallipoli, the 9th Battalion and the 2nd Light Horse Regiment are about to endure a new type of warfare. From the author of "...Until You Are Safe," this much-awaited sequel in The ANZAC Chronicles sees the Great War advance to 1916, as the Taylor boys and their mates prepare for the unknown trials of the new year. Each man is tested as they embark on their respective journeys through the battlefields of the Great War. The 9th Battalion begins the year defending the strategic Suez Canal at Gebel Habeita before moving on to the brutal front lines of France and Flanders, where they participate in the raid at Fleurbaix and endure the fierce battles of Pozieres, Mouquet Farm, and the first battle of the Somme, pushed to their limits by the intensity of the fighting.Meanwhile, the 2nd Light Horse Regiment faces the unforgiving desert heat, patrolling, scouting, and protecting crucial water supplies and railway lines, before engaging in key battles at Romani, Magdhaba, and Magruntein, testing their resilience against the harsh climate and relentless enemy forces."To Our Last Man" is a powerful narrative of courage and endurance, portraying the unforgiving nature of warfare through the eyes of Archie, Percy, and Rueben Taylor from the Queensland town of Kilcoy, their stories shedding light on the battles in which the ANZACs fought-battles none ever spoke about.
