This book helps build up a body of FM knowledge by providing access to the key issues (e.g. partnering, new patterns of working, e-commerce), as well as the sharing experience of leading practitioners. For example, the growth of private finance initiatives has wide implications for FM: how should facility managers deal with PFI and the long-term use of buildings? Opinions from major players in the field are given - both academics and practitioners - providing invaluable insights.

Facility management (FM) is now one of the fastest growing professional disciplines. Its relevancy and potential is increasingly recognised by the business community as well as industry and government. But the expertise of the facility manager is vulnerable while it remains reliant on management knowledge borrowed from other disciplines.
Facility Management: risk and opportunities helps to build up a distinctive body of FM knowledge and practice. It examines the key issues - from PFI to e-commerce- with expert opinions from major players in FM, providing invaluable insights to current and emerging best practice.
This is essential reading for innovative facility managers and corporate property managers, as well as being an informative text for Masters courses in FM.
