This volume in the "Lecture Notes" series is regarded as one of the standard textbooks for all medical undergraduates. The book does not set out to describe operative detail, but draws together in a logical fashion the fundamental principles of general surgery. Since the publication of the last edition (in 1987) there have been a number of major changes in surgical practice. Fully revised and updated, this book has new sections on the management of peptic ulcers and the minimally invasive surgical techniques.
