Interleukin-2 'supercharges" the immune system by promoting the growth of activated T-lymphocytes and augmenting their cell-killing activities. It, therefore, has a role in cancer and infection and has been licensed for use in the former. The book will focus on the areas of molecular biology, immunoregulation and the generation of specific or non-specific cytotoxic effector cells and their role in tumour immunotherapy.
