This book is designed to teach programming to a complete beginner who wishes to use FORTRAN 77 on a modern VDU-based computer. Written in two parts, the text initially introduces the reader to the main features of the modern micro, mini or mainframe computer. It then covers fundamental concepts in programming with the aid of complete examples on FORTRAN 77. The second part of the book describes the main features of the FORTRAN 77 language, introducing new concepts chapter by chapter and providing detailed general rules and suggested modes of use where appropriate.
