It contains over 200 illustrations, including previously unpublished photos taken by Mitchell himself. The publication will coincide with the 30th anniversary of Hendrix's death in September 1970.

Mitch Mitchell was the drummer with The Jimi Hendrix Experience from their debut to their final date in 1970. John Platt is a New York-based music writer, also archive consultant for tv and video music documentaries.
