I recently read the typewritten script of a soon to be published book. The author is Ralph Gordon, a gentleman from Union who knows how to put sentences on paper and hold the readers attention. Gordon's approach to the subject (the civil rights era on the 1960s in Mississippi) is different from previously published books on the subject. He is not some omniscient writer looking at this subject from the outside. He writes from firsthand observation and from interviews with members of his family and also his neighbors who had experiences similar to his own. -Ovid Vickers former English Professor East Central Community College

Ralph Gordon grew up in central Mississippi during the 1960s. He witnessed the civil rights movement and the abuses of freedom of both black and white Americans in his home community. He still lives near the farm where he grew up on the outskirts of Union, Mississippi with his wife Pat. Gordon is a freelance writer and retired salesman.
