About Stan Ashton's Poetry
Stanton Dean Ashton's rhyming poetry covers a wide spectrum of interests, from relating personal experiences to touches of mythology, history, nature, wildlife, sports, friendship, and even a little love.His recollections shift back and forth from the Beaches of the California Coast to the Wheat Fields of Kansas to the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. His personal experiences and thoughts develop into a congenial anthology of narrations set to rhyme.
Stanton Dean Ashton was born in Kansas in 1934. He moved with his family to California at the age of two. In 1948, the family moved back to Kansas. He attended High School and College in Kansas, then entered Military Service for two years. Married in 1956, and has two children. After his discharge from the service, he moved to Colorado to start his career. After forty years working at his profession, he retired and is now involved in retiree stuff, likes golf, and has renewed his interest in writing poetry.
