Sinopsis

A playful, accessible, and delicious new interpretation of tarot that combines pasta, pop culture, and Italian American tradition in a 78-card deck.

The Pasta Tarot is a deck for readers of all experience levels, and even for folks who simply love a steamy baked ziti. Rooted in the authors' queer Italian American identities, this 78-card deck and accompanying pamphlet offer readers a contemporary, playful take on tarot.

The Major Arcana is bursting with pasta-rific pop culture references, renderings of chosen family, drag queens, and iconic divas. You'll find a Corleone with a cannoli, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Sophia Loren, pop star Sophie, and Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera leading a pride parade. And don't get us started on the suits! Wands, Cups, Swords, and Pentacles are replaced by Corta (short pasta), Ripiena (stuffed pasta), Lunga (long pasta), and Minuta (tiny pasta), respectively. That's fifty-six types of pasta!

Pull cards to divine pasta dishes for your next dinner party. Share an introspective reading with a close friend or pull a daily card to give you an intention for the day. No matter how you use The Pasta Tarot, mamma mia, this deck has it all!

Acerca del autor

Jeff Petriello has been reading tarot since he was a teen witch in New Jersey in the early 2000s. His love of cards extends into a passion for game design, which he teaches at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts in Brooklyn. He currently works as an independent game designer, consultant, and producer. You can find him on Twitter, Instagram, or in your local Italian bakery. Rob Truglia is a pasta oracle, queer organizer, and brand marketer living in Brooklyn, New York. In 2018, he started seeing people as pasta shapes and life has been ever more delicious since. His pasta aura readings identify you as the pasta shape you embody most, in both appearance and spirit. By day he does food marketing for Pop Up Grocer and by night, transforms into Issa Mia Mario, a drag queen serving you camp Italian glamour.

Lindsay Mound is an artist, designer, copywriter, musician—you name it, honey! She illustrated this deck having freshly escaped from New York City to find new and old roots in her native New Mexico. Hear her sing in her band, Color War, visit her website to see more of her work, or drop a line or pass her name along the next time you or someone you love is in need of artistic support.
