9780552993326: The power of silence: further lessons of don Juan

Don Juan's mesmerizing stories uncover the true meaning of sorcery and magic. From the desert of Sonora, Don Juan's visions reveal the vital secrets of belief and self-realization and how they are elemental to personal growth. Wise, infuriating, but always instructive, this is certain to become Castaneda's most successful book ever.

About the Author:

Born in 1925 in Peru, anthropologist Carlos Castaneda wrote a total of 15 books, which sold 8 million copies worldwide and were published in 17 different languages. In his writing, Castaneda describes the teaching of Don Juan, a Yaqui sorcerer and shaman. His works helped define the 1960's and usher in the New Age movement. Even after his mysterious death in California in1998, his books continue to inspire and influence his many devoted fans.

From Library Journal:

In this new work, Don Juanabsent from Castaneda's preceding three worksonce again appears prominently. To convey the advanced spirituality of the Yaqui shaman, Castaneda relates stories told by Don Juan and his own experiences with the don. Such mysterious concepts as "stalking" and "intent," the "knocking" and trickery of the spirit, are all discussed. The vivid depictions of Don Juan's powers and personality will reawaken readers' fascination with earlier volumes, and since only one of three sets of six stories supposedly related by Don Juan appears here, doubtless more books are to come.
