PmLAMLP iiiA. Feb, 25, 1854. Messrs. HraaiNS PraK isi itOE, I haT fi read nitli some care theL ectures onE lection, by the Rev. A lesander C. EQ tberford, of Greenock, and I con!ider the wort to be an able esposition of the errors of the predestiniL riaa theory, by one who has had every opporlunily of understanding that theory, as held liy its ablest advocates. The argument is clear and conT incing ;and, fur general tirculation, I deem tliis book one of the best on the sul jeet witli which it has been my fortune to meet. Geo. R. Cbooes, M. A. Philadelpbia, January 4. 1854, Messrs. II iGH iss Pekkispise, I bave read a work entitled Lectures on theD octrine of on, by A lesander C. Rutherford, Minister of the Gospel, Greenock, and while I am not prepared tfl subscribe to all inor positions, nor to justify all its sevB rities of expresmany of which were prompted, I suppose, by circumes not apparent to the reader, I unhesitatingly recommend an unanswerable refutation of the Calvinjatic doctrinea if election and reprobation, as placing the truth in a very rand convincing light, and as eminently worthy to be republished and widely circulated, especially in view of the efforts now made to engage the public confidence for the unsoriptural and dangerous tenets which it condemns.
