The chapter layout of this book has been designed so that Part II and Part III can be used interchangeably. The Standard Template Library, namespaces and function classes have been included as well as appendixes on using Microsoft's Visual C++ Version 6.0 and Borland's C++ Builder compiler. The ANSI specifications for C++ are incorporated throughout the book. In addition, the Y2K problem has been addressed by changing the date class to store a four-digit year.
