Symmetrical components are covered early in chapter 3, allowing modelling on a three-phase basis of power transformers in chapter 4 and of transmission lines in chapter 5. Chapter 2 on fundamentals helps students to familiarize themselves with terminology and to refresh their memories regarding phasor concepts - both single and three-phase circuit aspects. There is a complete, self-contained chapter on transmission transients and an integration of personal computer applications to power systems.
