The authors use their extensive teaching experience to present methods of power system analysis and design, with thorough coverage of basic theory. Symmetrical components are covered early in chapter 3, allowing modelling on a three-phase basis of power transformers in chapter 4 and of transmission lines in chapter 5. Chapter 2 on fundamentals helps students to familiarize themselves with terminology and to refresh their memories regarding phasor concepts - both single and three-phase circuit aspects. There is a complete, self-contained chapter on transmission transients and an integration of personal computer applications to power systems.
