The first film which he directed was Accattone, a violent study of delinquency in the Roman suburbs which combines a ferocious realism with an element of Baroque stylization. In his subsequent work, which includes The Gospel According to St Matthew, Oedipus Rex and Theorem, these two opposing tendencies represent a dialogue between, on the one hand, his Marxism and atheism, and, on the other, his impulse to reach, through mythology, deeper levels of reality. In a prolonged series of interviews Mr Stack has drawn from Pasolini a wealth of illuminating comments on his career to date---' (Quote from inside front of dustwrapper blurb). ***First impression of the simultaneous true first edition, extremely hard to find in hardback in its original dustwrapper, especially in such nice, bright collectable condition. ***For all our books, postage is charged at cost, allowing for packaging: any shipping rates indicated on ABE are an average only: we will reduce the P & P charge where appropriate - please contact us for postal rates for heavier books and sets etc. Nº de ref. del artículo: 4397
