This book presents a fresh treatment of the subject, one that exploits these new developments while emphasizing their connection with classical control. The book is addressed to readers who have some knowledge of signals and systems, including an introduction to frequency-domain methods of analyzing feedback control systems. To keep the development simple, attention is primarily focused on single-input/single-output systems.

About the Author:

John C. Doyle is John G. Braun Professor of Control and Dynamical Systems, Electrical Engineering, and Bioengineering at the California Institute of Technology. Bruce A. Francis is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Toronto. Allen R. Tannenbaum is Julian Hightower Professor of Bioengineering and Systems and Controls at Georgia Tech.
