Ist nun ein Punkt im ersten Parallelogramm P, so enthalt jedes weitere Parallelogramm einen congruent liegenden Punkt. Der geometrische Sinn der Gleichung (2) ist der, dass in allen diesen Punkten denselben Werth hat. Die Function q;(o) ist folglich in allen Punkten der o-ebene bekannt, wenn man ihren Werth in allen Punkten eines, etwa des ersten Parallelogramms P kennt. Es genügt daher, die Function q> (12) auf ihr Verhalten in P zu unter suchen. Hierzu sei folgender Hilfssatz vorausgeschickt.
