Excerpt from Remembering and Forgetting
The chapters in this book were drafted at different times between 1913 and 1921, though they have all been recently revised, and most of them have received considerable additions. They are not arranged in strict logical sequence; indeed, any appearance of complete ness in a treatise upon such a vast subject would be illusory. Chapters i. To ix., however, are all closely connected, and may best be read in that order. Chap ters x. To xiii. Form an appendix illustrating many principles laid down in the main part of the book.
