The present edition of the primary latin book appears in response to instructions from the Education Department of Ontario, which desires that the authorized text-books in Latin shall retain, unchanged and unrevised, the Introductory Lessons of the former text-books, and shall also include the selections from Nepos and Caesar prescribed for matriculation by the University of Toronto, together with annotations, vocabularies and exercises in prose composition and sight translation based on these selections.
