The finite element method is a numerical modelling technique which requires the subdivision of a region (surface or volume) into small elements, of which the response characteristics of each are described in a simplified way. This book shows how to develop computer programs which solve specific engineering problems using the finite element method. This revised third edition has all programs completely re-written in Fortran 90.
