Worked examples are an extremely useful means by which students can improve their understanding of mathematics and their ability to apply their skills to non-standard problems. This book supplies worked solutions to a wide variety of examination questions in engineering mathematics. The examples chosen cover a typical first year engineering mathematics syllabus. An important feature is the use of real examination questions, rather than simple exercises in manipulation. Examples are mainly taken from Engineering Council Part I papers and from First Year papers set by Loughborough University of Technology. The book is intended to complement a textbook such as Engineering Mathematics, by Bajpai, Mustoe and Walker.
