About the Author: Michael Gorman is President of Whitemarsh Information Systems Corporation. He encountered his first DBMS in 1969 ? an inverted-access, hierarchical data model, natural language DBMS. He is a member of the ANSI/X3H2 committee on NDL and SQL standards.
