Imaging science embodies the study of images and the imaging process. The primary goal of imaging science is to develop advanced capabilities for the acquisition, processing, visualization, and quantitative analysis of images in order to collect the scientific, educational and clinical information that they contain This book provides an overview of biomedical 3-D imaging science, technology, and practice. It aims to present the information required by basic scientists and medical practitioners in multidisciplinary fields to understand 3-D imaging and its effective uses in biology and medicine. Beginning with basic principles, the author systematically covers simple-to-sophisticated methodologies, and concludes with examples of current applications and implications for future advances.
