GILBERT HELD is Chief of Data Communications for a U.S. government agency's 4,000-station network. He is the award-winning author of more than 30 computer books, including Virtual LANs; Ethernet Networks, Second Edition; LAN Management with SNMP and RMON; Internetworking LANs and WANs; Data Communications Networking Devices, Third Edition; and The Complete Modem Reference, Third Edition.
