Sinopsis

Designed to aid engineers, fabricators and architects, this monograph explores the practice of designing aluminium structures. Emphasis is placed on the features of aluminium that differentiate it from other structural materials, such as steel. The authors cover the properties of aluminium; its structural performance in beams, columns and members; aluminium fabrication, welding and mechanical connections; and inspections and testing. Examples are included which not only help in the application of the procedures described, but also illustrate the usage of ASD versus LRFD methods.
