Mary Louisa Molesworth, née Stewart (29 May 1839 20 January 1921) was an English writer of children's stories who wrote for children under the name of Mrs Molesworth. The Cuckoo Clock is a British children's fantasy novel published in 1877 by Macmillan. It was originally published under the pen name Ennis Graham. In the story a small child and a cuckoo from a cuckoo clock become unlikely friends. At night the clock transports her to magical places.
