It contains all the verse of the Collected Poems 1934-1952, plus over one hundred other poems previously either quite inaccessible or not easily accessible. It is therefore the most representative collection of the poet's work available in one volume. A poet does not live in a vacuum, and the various influences on Thomas's life emerge clearly from the chronological presentation of his work which is a feature of this edition, and reveal something of the relationship between poems written about the same time and the development of the poet's technique and imagery.
